Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

MDD is a serious disorder that effects approximately 5-7% of Americans. That means between 15 and 21 million Americans are currently living with this disorder. There are many causes of depression, for example; it could be the situation one is in or a death of a loved one.

Some of the symptoms that may be associated with depression are: can’t sleep, feeling hopeless, loss of appetite, lack of interest, can’t concentrate, just to name a few. TMS is a proven method of treating depression.

For ideal results from TMS, the patient will be treated 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks, depending on the patient’s response to the treatments. Each treatment lasts approximately 40 minutes and has zero lasting side effects. The most common side effect experienced with TMS is scalp sensitivity, which will go away shortly after the treatment session has concluded.

Patients are able to drive after the treatments, whereas with some medications driving is not advised. Many insurance providers are now conducting prior-authorizations for MDD TMS therapy.
